Invoicing

Stop chasing what you've already earned.

Build an invoice in a minute, email it, and let your client pay online. Acquitonline tracks what's outstanding, what's overdue, and what landed — so you can go back to the work you actually bill for.

The problem

Getting paid shouldn't be a second job.

Most small businesses invoice from a spreadsheet, email a PDF, and then spend the next six weeks sending polite reminders. Acquitonline closes that gap: your client opens the invoice, pays it on the spot, and the invoice marks itself paid.

Every payment your client makes goes directly to your own payment account. Acquitonline never holds your money.

How it works

Four steps, and one of them is waiting.

No implementation project, no data migration, no training week.

  1. 01

    Set up your business

Your details, your logo, your tax numbers, your payment terms. Connect your payment account in a few clicks — you keep it, we never touch it.

  2. 02

    Build the invoice

Add lines, pick the taxes that apply, set a due date. Acquitonline numbers it for you and renders a clean bilingual PDF.

  3. 03

    Send it

One click emails your client the invoice and a secure payment link, in their language, with the PDF attached.

  4. 04

    Get paid

Your client pays by card or bank debit and the invoice updates itself. Paid by cheque instead? Record it in two clicks and the balance follows.

What it does

Built around the part that actually hurts.

Not an accounting suite. An invoicing tool that takes collection seriously.

01

Invoices that look like you meant them

Line items, quantities, discounts, per-line taxes, notes and terms — rendered to a PDF that carries your branding and your registration numbers.

  • Automatic numbering, assigned when you send
  • GST, QST and provincial rates, computed and shown separately
  • Drafts stay editable; sent invoices stay honest
  • Bilingual documents — your client reads theirs in their language

02

Delivery you can actually verify

Email that goes out once, with the PDF attached and a secure payment link. You see when it was delivered and when it was opened.

  • Secure, expiring payment links — no login for your client
  • Delivery and bounce tracking, so a wrong address is visible
  • Never sends twice, even if something retries behind the scenes

03

Payment on the invoice itself

Your client opens the link and pays right there — card or US bank debit. No account, no app, no phone call.

  • Card payments, and bank debit for the larger invoices
  • Partial payments, tracked against the balance
  • The money settles into your own payment account

04

Reminders that go out without you

Set the schedule once — a nudge before the due date, one on it, one after. Acquitonline sends them and stops the moment the invoice is paid.

  • Reminders before, on, and after the due date
  • Stops automatically when the balance reaches zero
  • Every reminder logged, so you know exactly what was sent

05

Where your money actually is

Outstanding, overdue, and paid — by client and by age. Plus the tax totals you need when it's time to remit.

  • Aging: what's 30, 60, 90 days out
  • GST and QST collected, per period
  • Revenue by client and by month

Modules

Independent features, not packages.

Turn on what you need. Nothing is bundled to force an upgrade.

Invoicing

Drafts, line items, numbering, PDF rendering, and the invoice lifecycle.

Subscriptions

Monthly or biweekly schedules that issue invoices automatically. Auto-charge when online payments are connected.

Card payments

Debit and credit cards on the invoice's own payment page.

Bank debit

US ACH bank debit for the invoices where card fees hurt.

Recorded payments

Cheque, cash, wire and Interac e-Transfer recorded against the balance, with your instructions on the invoice.

Reminders

A schedule of automatic follow-ups that stops when the invoice is paid.

Client records

Contacts, addresses, language, currency and payment terms.

Taxes

Your rates and registration numbers, applied per line and reported per period.

Team access

Invite people and choose what each of them can see and do.

Pricing is scoped to the modules you turn on. A short conversation gives us enough to quote properly.

Fit

For businesses that invoice and wait.

Trades, consultants, agencies, studios, clinics, suppliers — anyone sending invoices to other businesses or to clients who don't pay at the counter.

Payments run on

Stripe

We name only the payment processors we have verified end to end. Interac e-Transfer, cheque, cash and wire are recorded against the invoice — they are not collected online, because no self-serve interface exists for them.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Where does the money go?

Straight to your own payment account. You connect it once during setup and remain the merchant of record — your business name is what your client sees on their statement. Acquitonline never holds your funds.

Can my clients pay by Interac e-Transfer?

They can send one, and you record it against the invoice in two clicks — your e-Transfer instructions appear on the invoice and the payment page. It is not collected automatically, because Interac has no self-serve interface for that. We would rather say so than imply otherwise.

What about partial payments?

Supported. A client can pay part of an invoice online, send a cheque for the rest, and the balance stays correct throughout. Every payment is recorded separately.

Does it handle GST and QST?

Yes. You set your rates and registration numbers once; they apply per line, print separately on the invoice, and total per period for remittance. Rates are frozen onto an invoice when you send it, so a later rate change never rewrites history.

Do you sell fixed pricing tiers?

No. Features are independent modules you turn on as you need them — not locked packages. We quote once we know how you invoice — usually after a short conversation with you.

Is it bilingual?

Throughout. The app, the invoice PDF, and every email your client receives. Each client record carries a language, so your francophone clients get French and your anglophone clients get English — from the same invoice.
